BACK TO BASICS: What is Grace?

Everything about the American way of life teaches us that you get what you earn in life and that there is no free lunch. In America we are very aware of the values of competition and winning and we know what it means to work hard and use elbow grease. We value effort. We tell people, "You get what you deserve in life" and "If you want to make something of your life then it's up to you" and "If it is to be, it's up to me."

This is called the American work ethic. The only problem is that God doesn't follow the American work ethic. It makes it difficult for us to relate to God because we're in this driven work mentality.

Take a step back from your driven work reality and come to THE LIFE this Sunday. Experience God's reality. Learn how God relates to you in a Celebration called "What is Grace?"
